REVIEWS

MrsV. Is great! Her ACT tutoring helped me get the Zell Miller Scholarship & get into one of my top college choices. She really helps you to break down each section of the test and make it easier to tackle. Richard, the Math tutor I worked with, was very patient and good at explaining things. I don’t think I would have gotten the score I did without him & MrsV.!!

Mrs. Veloso helped me get the SAT score I needed to get into the university of my choice! After 5 weeks of working with her, I was able to raise my score 300 points. With each visit I had with her, I was able to walk away with new knowledge and test taking tricks I didn’t know prior.
She was always full of energy and encouragement with every session. She gave me books that I could use and practice with to help me become more comfortable with taking the test. She was also very flexible with my schedule. I highly recommend working with MrsV. for any educational support you might need!

Caryl has been a pleasure to work with on SAT and ACT studies for my children. She has made this program a fun experience while still learning and able to increase scores over previous tests.

Caryl learns where there may have been challenges and turns them into wins. Thanks, Caryl for making test-taking a fun experience!
— Ted Moshos
Mrs. Veloso was super helpful when I went to study for the Biology CLEP. She kept me [stay] focused and on track, and made sure I learned all the key points in order to pass the test.

I was able to study for and pass the test in a fraction of the time it would have taken me to do it by myself. I 100% recommend her!

I loved working with Caryl! This was an incredible experience for me; while we’ve all taken generic English courses, college essays are a whole other ballgame. Like many, I didn’t know where to start.

The first time I met her, she grabbed a coffee and a granola bar, and “interviewed me” to help me get a better understanding of what I wanted out of my essays. Caryl helped me to write candidly, but she also gently reminded me of the admissions officer reading my essay.

Once we wrapped up our sessions, I felt an incredible sense of accomplishment; I knew that I finished an essay that would impress admissions at GA Tech. (I got in, by the way!)

My daughter also just finished Caryl’s SAT prep.  It was worth every bit of the investment and time.  My daughter started out with very little confidence and felt extremely intimidated to take the SAT test.

Caryl was excellent at meeting her where she was at and making her feel very confident and capable.  Not only did she improve her score greatly but she finished a much more confident test taker.  We WILL  be doing another session with her in the future.

My only regret is that I didn’t know about her for my oldest daughter.
— Dawn Funk
I had recently moved to the US when I needed to take the SAT and I had no idea how the standardized test worked. Mrs. Veloso helped me understand how it worked and gave me really helpful tips. I took one individual and one group workshop and both were 100% worth it. She is very energetic and caring with her students.

MrsV. is the absolute best! If you’re aiming for a perfect score, sign up for a workshop! I learned so much from her about the SAT in only six weeks. I never thought I could be good at reading, but after taking classes with her, I feel much more confident in my reading abilities. Not only she is extremely intelligent, but she is also kind! She is so encouraging and pleasant to be around. I truly had a great experience and would recommend any of her workshops to anyone! Almond Tree Education is the real deal!!

Mrs. Veloso’s lessons were incredibly helpful! A great positive atmosphere; I can proudly say that she was a great motivator and mentor during the college testing and application process!

I absolutely recommend her services to anyone looking to increase their score.

Caryl is awesome at what she does. She takes the time with students and truly cares about their needs and how she can best help them to improve.  She is also a great source of knowledge for parents who are trying to determine paths for different learning styles. Thanks for your commitment to our kids, Caryl!
— Cindy Wofford
Thanks, Caryl, for helping my daughter prepare for the SAT that she took yesterday! She felt so relaxed coming over to your home to practice, and felt like the test itself was ‘no big deal’ because she was so well prepared.  Thank you for using several different resources that spoke to her needs, and for personally caring about her success.  You were at least as excited as we were when she improved her practice scores!

I’ll be sending my son to you next year, and I’m telling my friends about how you were so helpful. Many thanks and blessings!
— Cindy Heath
My daughter also just finished Caryl’s workshop. What a blessing it was for her! She felt very prepared to take her first SAT this past Saturday.  I feel that Caryl’s approach really helped her feel comfortable even though she has never taken any standardized test outside of our home until now.  And to hear her say that the math was “pretty easy”... now that’s amazing!

As a parent, I appreciate that she treats the students as individuals and that her goals for each are as unique as they are.
— Tara Mewbourne
My two older girls took Caryl’s SAT prep class before they went off to college.  Both of them increased their score by 200 to 400 points.  They benefited so much, our next student will be enrolling this time around. Thanks!
